Summer Hours at CML

This summer, CML stays open later!  Come PLAY with us until 7:00pm every
Tuesday - Sunday, now through Labor Day!

On Labor Day (September 1), we'll be open from 9am - 7pm.

Beginning Tuesday, September 2, we'll have new hours! PLAY with us on Tuesdays
and Fridays from 9am - 7pm, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 9am - 5pm and
Sundays from 12pm - 5pm.

2014 Fall Classes at CML

Dance Moves Dance Class
Beginning Tuesday, September 2 at 11:00am
Suggested for ages 2 - 5

The Children's Museum brings in local professionals to provide our members and visitors with Dance Moves during the fall semester.

This energetic dance class taught by a professional dancer explores movement, basic ballet technique and simple dance steps, such as chasse, gallop, skips, kicks, turns and jumps. A wide variety of props and music are used to enhance movement training in this fun and creative dance program!

Classes will be offered for one 12-week session and are recommended for ages 2-5. A minimum of 5 students is required to pre-register for the class to occur. Early Connections FREE Class
Beginning Tuesday, September 2 at 4:00pm and Wednesday, September 3 at 10:00am
Suggested for ages Birth - Three Years

Our youngest visitors (ages Birth - 3 Years) and their grown-ups are invited to join us for special programming each week to explore connections between literature, movement, arts, science, math, etc.  On the third Tuesday of each month, Jessica Shields Flowers from Ripple will join us to coach grown-ups in enhancing connections between themselves and their child that increase a child's attention span and cooperation.

Walk-ins welcome!  No registration required.

Silhouettes by Clay Rice

CML is thrilled to partner with FAMOUS Charleston silhouette artist, Clay Rice!

Mark your calendar for Saturday, September 6, as Clay Rice will be visiting CML for his Silhouette Cutting, story telling and sing-a-longs! 

As an award-winning artist, Clay Rice is considered the finest silhouettist in the world. Clay will cut out a silhouette of your child in one minute. He amazes with his speed and accuracy in capturing your child's profile. In addition to his extraordinary silhouette cutting, Clay is also a children's book author and will be reading his book and inviting children to participate in a sing-a-long at the Children's Museum on September 6 at 11:30am.  Click here to learn more about Clay Rice.

Thanks to PNC, PNC PLAY Day offers FREE ADMISSION FOR EVERYONE at the Children's Museum of the Lowcountry!  Each family will receive FREE Museum Admission and a coupon to come back for a FREE visit to the Museum.  The first 250 families will receive a children's book. 

No pre-registration required, just come and enjoy the fun!

CML SuperStars!

Sunday,September 14
10:00am - 12:00pm

The Children's Museum is open before hours from 10:00am -12:00pm the second and fourth Sundays of every month for children with special needs and their families to visit the Museum for FREE.  Children are able to explore and play in the Museum without the crowds and over-stimulation.  This program is FREE, but registration is required.
