CML provides a magical and unique location for your child’s next birthday! Where the birthday princess can climb to the top of her very own castle, where the birthday boy can be the captain of his own ship, and where parents can actually enjoy watching their child (and let CML party host take care of everything) have the best birthday ever….these are memories found only at a CML Birthday party!
BUILDING YOUR BIRTHDAY BASH
A Basic Birthday Party
(suggested for ages 1 – 10)
 Includes: Hosted, decorated private room for 1.5 hours, all-day admission to the Museum for all invitees, festive leis for party guests, tableware (plates, napkins, forks, spoons, cups), 1/2 dozen balloons and a birthday parade for 10 children, additional children are $5 each (adults are complimentary).

A Themed Birthday Party
(suggested for ages 4 - 10)
Includes: Hosted, decorated private room for 1.5 hours, all-day admission to the Museum for all invitees, tableware (plates, napkins, forks, spoons, cups), festive leis for party guests, plenty o’ balloons, a birthday parade and themed crafts, games and favors for up to 10 children, additional children are $10 each (adults are complimentary).

Pizzazzy Pirate Party

 X marks the best birthday party in town during CML’s Pizzazzy Pirate Party! CML’s Birthday Party Room becomes a secret pirate cove drenched in black, red and white. Children get into character as they decorate their own swords and eye patches, and they complete their look with a pirate bandana. Then, they are off on a treasure hunt throughout the Museum, which will end with their loot bags full of goodies!
Bakealicious Birthday Bash
CML Member* - $220
Non-CML Member - $250
The birthday chefs will start off the celebration by putting on their very own apron and decorating their chef’s hat! Then, it is time to get down to business with cupcake decorating in preparation for your child’s best “Happy Birthday To You” experience ever! Lastly, it is time for more fun with a game in the Charleston Market. The party ends with all the birthday chefs taking home their own cooking utensil and the birthday child’s favorite recipe.
Groovy Garden Gathering 
CML Member* - $220
Non-CML Member - $250
The CML private party room will be alive with shades of green and yellow. Children will create their own garden crown decorated with live flowers and plants from CML Garden, go on a Garden Detectives Scavenger Hunt with huge magnifying glasses, and then decorate their own pot and plant their own tree to take home and grow with them.
Noble Knights and Precious Princesses
CML Member* - $220
Non-CML Member - $250
Step back in time to an age when knights and princesses ruled the land! Once the noble knights have decorated protective shields and our precious princesses have designed beautiful crowns, they are sent on a quest in throughout CML’s Medieval Castle. When the quest has been completed, a knighting ceremony awaits them back in birthday party room that includes riches for all!

A Private Affair
For an additional $75, you and your guests can have the entire Museum to yourselves from 5:15 - 7:30 pm! Children play in the Museum for the first hour and then the birthday party room opens up at 6 pm for a night full of exclusive fun!
A Super-Luscious Spa Soiree with niki leigh
Your daughter and her friends will be immersed in girlyness as they create fabulous Fizzy Bath Bombs or Bodacious Body Scrubs that they bring home as the coolest party favor in town! The CML private room will be transformed with only the girlyest of niki leigh décor and there are special girly surprises around every corner.

Let your child’s imagination run wild. We can do whatever he or she can dream for their very own customized celebration! This package includes a consultation session for your child with CML’s birthday party coordinator to ensure everything is planned according to your child’s wishes.

What days can we have a birthday bash at CML?
Every day is a party day at CML! Our birthday time slots are as follows:
Saturdays
10:00 - 11:30 am
12:45 pm - 2:15 pm
3:30 - 5:00 pm
5:15 - 7:30 pm (additional $75 fee; birthday room will be ready at 6 pm)
Sundays
1:00 - 2:30 pm
3:30 - 5:00 pm
5:15 - 7:30 pm (additional $75 fee; birthday room will be ready at 6 pm)
Weekdays
Most days are open for parties, please call for availability.
Please note: Since the Museum closes at 5 pm, if you book the last birthday slot of the day 3:30 pm – 5:00 pm, we encourage you to let your guests know they can come before the start of the birthday in order to get more play time in the Museum.
How do I get this party started?
Simply call our Birthday Party Fun Coordinator, Christine Kelly, to chat about the big bash! Christine will answer all your questions, check on availability and hold a spot for you!
We are happy to put a tentative hold on a time for the birthday bash without a deposit. However, once you are ready to confirm the party, we ask for a $75 deposit. This deposit is taken out of the total amount due, which we settle up at the end of the birthday bash.
What does CML provide for the birthday bash?
- A private party room for 1.5 hours, decorated in two colors of your choosing.
- A birthday party host to help welcome guests, serve food and have fun with the birthday party children!
- Festive party leis and tableware (plates, napkins, forks, spoons, cups)
- A birthday parade
- And, of course…the entire Museum!
For themed birthday parties, CML also provides…
- A craft for the birthday bash children
- A scavenger hunt
- A take-home treat CML can also provide a number of enhancements, including cake, snacks and drinks for an additional fee.
What do I need to do for the birthday bash?
First of all, you must have fun! Secondly, we ask that you fill out the confirmation packet you will receive once you confirm your birthday bash slot and send it in. Lastly, bring whatever food/drink/treats you would like to serve your guests…that is unless you want us to do all that for you!
How many children can attend my party? Can their parents come as well?
To ensure that everyone has the best possible experience, we try to keep the number of children to a maximum of 20. We ask that you try to keep the party to a total of 40 people, children and adults. We do this to ensure everyone’s comfort during the party.
Can I have pizza or other food delivered to my party?
Absolutely; however, since we have had difficulty with late deliveries in the past, we suggest that you have food delivered at the time your party starts.
When can I get into the private birthday bash room?
The room is guaranteed to be ready for you 15 minutes before the start time of your party. You are welcome to come in 30 minutes before your party starts, just know we may still be putting the finishing touches on the room.
Where do I park on the day of my party?
We have a special parking spot reserved for the birthday family. It is located off of John Street, across from Rue de Jean. Your confirmation packet will include a map that gives you better directions. Once you pull in the parking lot, look for the bright teal “dancing man” to guide you to your spot.
What is the typical timeline of a birthday bash?
We suggest the following timeline; but it is your party, so we can guide the party however you wish:
- The CML birthday bash host will welcome guests as they arrive and invite them to go play in the Museum.
- Approximately 15 minutes into the party, we will make an announcement throughout the Museum asking your party guests to join us for the birthday parade.
- After we parade through the Museum and into the birthday bash room, it is time to eat snacks and present the cake!
- After cake, we open presents, if you wish, and then invite the guests to enjoy the Museum for the rest of the day!
How do I settle the payment for the party?
We will settle payment at the end of the party. The base price for 10 children is the minimum amount for any party. However, in regard to additional children, you are only charged for the number of children who attend the party.
Suggestions for a successful/stress-free birthday bash.
- Let CML handle all the details for you! We can arrange for the snacks, drinks, cake, take home treats and more!
- If you would like to bring your own food, we suggest simple foods. Some of the more popular items that folks have brought in include: - Domino's Pizza (The store at 306 East Bay Street (p - 843-720-8600) offers a Children's Museum of the Lowcountry Deal for large, one- topping pizzas for only $6!
- Chick-fil-A nuggets
- Individual cheese sticks
- Finger fruits, i.e., grapes, raisins, or Goldfish crackers
