Saturday, December 7
9am – 11am

From America to Scandinavia to China, people celebrate holidays with special rituals and festivities. We invite children and families into the Museum to take a “holiday tour” of traditions happening throughout the year, particularly during the month of December.

From celebrating the Chinese New Year to playing a traditional Swedish games to parading through the museum with traditional Middle Eastern instruments, each exhibit will feature a local group and will include décor and hands-on activities that will honor holiday rituals and festivals.

Thanks to a generous anonymous donor, Holiday Extravaganza is free this year! The event has now SOLD OUT, but we invite you to join us for next year’s celebration! Please note that the Children’s Museum will open to the public at 11am on Saturday, December 7 after the event.
