where to park

The Visitor’s Center Parking Garage and the Camden/Exchange Parking Garage are located near the Museum. The garages cost $2.00/hour and accept cash and credit cards.

The City of Charleston provides a number of metered parking spaces around the Museum for $2/hour.

Hint: The meters accept change or credit cards for up to two hours at a time – and the meter maids around town take their jobs very seriously!

what to do when you get here

The museum has seven interior exhibit galleries and a backyard full of hands-on interactive exhibits that are sure to keep your family engaged in playful learning for hours. The museum is self-guided and encourages family interaction and imagination.

Hint: We suggest starting in the Art Room, that way all masterpieces can dry before it is time to go home.
